How do I get from Larnaca Airport to Northern Cyprus (TRNC)?

To get from Larnaca Airport to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), you will need to cross the border (called checkpoint) at one of the designated crossing points. There are two main options for crossing the border:

  1. By Taxi: You can take a taxi from Larnaca Airport to the border crossing point at Agios Dometios/Dereboyu. From there, you can take another taxi or a shared taxi (called dolmuş in Turkish) to your final destination in TRNC.

  2. Alternatively, order a taxi driver from TRNC who is allowed to cross the border and get chauffeured to your destination in TRNC prices to Famagusta range between EUR 60-80.

  3. By Bus: You can take a bus from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia (also known as Lefkoşa in Turkish). From the bus station in Nicosia, you can take a taxi or a shared taxi to your final destination in TRNC.

  4. Up to now, it’s not possible to cross the border by rental car

Please note that crossing the border (checkpoint) into TRNC requires a valid passport. Currently, it’s easy crossing and no visa needed for EU or Schengen members, e.g. Switzerland. It's also important to check the current travel restrictions and entry requirements before you travel, as they can change frequently (like during COVID-19 pandemic).
